Man Charged In Sunday Night Barrhaven Homicide

The Ottawa Police Service arrested a man at 1:45 a.m. today following the homicide of a 64-year-old woman on Sherway Drive near Tedwyn Drive.

A 66-year-old man was also seriously injured in the incident and is being treated in hospital.

The Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unite is investigating the incident. The arrested man is expected to appear in court today.

Police were called to the address at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday night after a 911 call reported the incident.

Police and emergency responders rushed to the scene. After the two victims were located, police evacuated surrounding homes and began to work to arrest the man who is now in custody.
