Vigil For Stabbing Victims Saturday 11a.m. At Palmadeo Park
Less than 24 hours after Ottawa’s worst mass homicide, over 100 community members gathered at Palmadeo Park to lay flowers and light candles. Another vigil with politicians is planned for Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
Barrhaven councillors Dave Hill and Wilson Lo are expected to be in attendance alongside Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe, Nepean MPP Lisa MacLeod, and His Excellency Mr. Harsha Kumara Navaratne Weraduwa, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka.
“There will be no speeches or formalities. We will just be a community coming together to mourn the loss of a beautiful family,” Lo said in a Friday morning newsletter. “All are welcome to join us in a moment of reflection and to lay some flowers in memory of the victims.”
