Montreal Man Arrested After Stealing Toyota Rav4

Vehicles being stolen overnight in Barrhaven continue to be a problem, but there is now one less car thief roaming the community.

At approximately 3:30 a.m. on Thurs., Nov. 16, Ottawa Police Service officers observed a Toyota RAV4 speeding on Strandherd Drive.

According to police, the vehicle had been “freshly stolen” from a nearby house.

Officers followed the vehicle. The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

Multiple Officers, including K9, responded, and a 25-year-old from Montreal was arrested and charged with Theft of a Motor vehicle, Dangerous Operation, Possession of property obtained by Crime, Obstructing a Peace Officer, and Mischief to Property.
