The bear that was in Barrhaven in the Woodroffe-Earl Mulligan area has been successfully and safely captured.
Woodroffe Avenue was re-opened to traffic this evening after being closed off by the Ottawa Police Service this morning because of the black bear.
The bear was tranquilized and captured, and was not injured. The animal is being transported into the wild for its release.
There were no people injured.
